Overview | This presentation explores key ethical considerations in eating disorder treatment, including patient autonomy, beneficence, nonmaleficence, and justice in clinical care.
Attendees will examine ethical challenges related to virtual treatment settings, higher levels of care, lifesaving interventions, and informed consent when cognitive impairment is present. Through real-world examples, participants will gain practical strategies for navigating complex clinical decisions while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and compassionate, patient-centered care.
Presenter Bio | Landry Weatherston-Yarborough, LPC, CEDS-C, NCC is the Director of Clinical Services Eating Recovery Center and Pathlight Mood & Anxiety Center.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Texas Christian University and her Master of Education in Counselor Education from Texas Tech University. After initially working with survivors of domestic violence, Landry joined Eating Recovery Center in 2012 and has held many roles within the organization: Primary Therapist, Clinical Manager, Clinical Director, Executive Director, Regional Clinical Director, and was made the Director of Clinical Services in 2026.
She is a founding member and former President of the San Antonio chapter of the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp). Landry completed foundational training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in 2014 and became a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist Consultant (CEDS-C) through iaedp in 2019. Landry is passionate about evidenced-based treatment and helping patients and their families build lasting recoveries.
